Academic Preparation, Recruitment & Outreach (APRO) Program
The Office of Academic Preparation, Recruitment & Outreach (APRO) is dedicated to serving the diverse population of the state of California by helping students achieve their goal of a post-graduate education. Our office works to close gaps in education by creating an inclusive environment for all students as they progress toward graduate study. Please review the following programs and resources provided by Graduate Division and our campus partners to learn more about graduate study at UCR:
Summer and year-long research programs that prepare undergraduates for graduate school
Federal grants providing graduate fellowships for minority students in the STEM fields
Partnerships between UCR, Cal State, and Community Colleges
UCR is proud to be one of the most diverse universities in the University of California system. Our undergraduate programs include students from diverse backgrounds with 46% of enrolled students identifying as historically underserved students. It is the goal of our university to continue to represent the different cultures and backgrounds that make up the state of California and beyond.
UCR is home to 55 Master's programs and 42 doctoral programs attracting students domestically and abroad. It is the goal of APRO to be the bridge that links undergraduate students to the valuable research, educational, and professional opportunities UCR's Graduate Division has to offer.
APRO is committed to supporting undergraduate transfer students at UC Riverside. In addition to exposing students to campus resources, our office provides research opportunities created to help students plug into the UCR community while simultaneously developing their professional and academic skills.
